97 died at work in Azerbaijan in 2011 – govt
211 people were injured at work in Azerbaijan in 2011, and 97 of them died as a result of the injuries, the minister of labor and social security has said.
Fuzuli Alakbarov said injuries in the workplace are a problem of worldwide scale. About 6,300 people are killed and 850,000 injured at work around the world every day, he said.
According to Alakbarov, some 100,000 jobs were opened in Azerbaijan in 2011, which leads to an increased risk of such instances.
