Azersun Holding launches tea factory in Russia

BAKU – The Baku-based Azersun Holding, a group of companies playing a major role in Azerbaijan’s economic development, has launched a tea factory built in Belorechensk, in Russia’s Krasnodar province, the company said.

Also, a groundbreaking ceremony of a canned food factory has been laid in the city.

Abdulbari Gozel, Azersun’s board chairman, told the opening ceremony on Tuesday that the commissioned enterprise and the canned food factory under construction were a graphic example of high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

“These enterprises will play an important role in further strengthening of the relations between the two countries,” Gozel said.

The annual capacity of the canned food factory is estimated at 50 million cans. It will produce products made from tomatoes, green peas, pickles, as well as corn and other vegetable and fruit canned products enjoying demand in the market.

The Russian Trade Representative in Azerbaijan, Yuri Shchedrin, has said $17 million has been spent to build each factory.
