Germany’s Brainpool chosen as Eurovision lead partner in 2012
The German company Brainpool GmbH has been chosen to be the Official Production Partner for the Eurovision song contest in Baku next May, the host broadcaster of the contest Ictimai (Public) TV has said.
"Our decision to work with Brainpool is based on hard facts, Brainpool demonstrated excellent execution during the Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf in 2011," Adil Karimli, the Executive Producer of the contest, told Eurovision-2012 website on Thursday. "We are looking forward to working with the company, as they have the experience and capability to support us in this exciting project."
Brainpool will be a lead partner to provide support in design and show production, as well as technical support on all show related issues.
"We are happy Ictimai TV chose an experienced production company for the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Brainpool has a proven track record in the production of state-of-the-art international television productions and valuable Eurovision Song Contest experience," said Jon Ola Sand, the Executive Supervisor of the contest on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union.
Brainpool was the production partner of German broadcaster NDR at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
Contest participants from Azerbaijan, Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) won the Eurovision-2011 with the song "Running Scared" gaining 221 points. Thus, Azerbaijan obtained the right to host the Eurovision-2012.
The semi-finals of the contest will be held on May 22-24, while the final - on May 26.
