Azeri writer’s short stories published across Turkey
Well-known Azerbaijani writer and literary critic Vagif Sultanly’s short stories have been published in a number of major Turkish publications this year.
The short stories were carried by Kayseri-based Berceste, Chukurova Sanat in Adana, Mor Taka in Trabzon, Turk Edebiyati, Dergah and Yeddi Iglim in Istanbul, Kardes Kalemler and Tore in Ankara. Turkish readers had the opportunity to become familiar with a variety of short stories covering various themes, including Ag Yol (White Road), Bagli Gapi (Closed Door), Ada (Island), Gutb Gecesi (Polar Night), and Magara (The Cave).
Sultanly’s creations were translated into Turkish by Enver Uzun, an assistant professor at a university in Trabzon.
The book of Sultanly’s short stories, titled Yovshan Etri (Wormwood Fragrance), also translated by Uzun, will also be published by the end of 2011 in Istanbul.
