Get acquainted with winds of Absheron

Baku’s Natavan gallery will open its doors for the contemporary art exhibition titled “Winds of Absheron”.

Organized by the Arts Council Azerbaijan following the previously announced tender, the event is scheduled for February 11.

The exhibition will include works by artists of different ages, but equally enamored in Absheron.

Absheron Peninsula, which is a home to the country's capital Baku, has a rich history and shrouded in numerous legends. The artists draw inspiration from Absheron’s nature, architecture, as well as cultural lifestyle of its inhabitants.

Absheron is unthinkable without the winds. Southern wind Gilavar which softens the winter cold and north wind Khazri bring coolness in the summer heat. These winds are often played as the motives in music, stories and, of course, pictures of various painters.

The exhibition will last until February 18. The entrance is free.
