Youth show ability at street theater and art festival in Baku

The street theater and art festival devoted to the inaugural European Games, which is scheduled for June 12-28, has been held in Baku.

The event, held in Metro Park shopping center was jointly organized by the "Center of education, development and training of young people" Public Association and the Youth Foundation under the Azerbaijani president.

Aiming to support talented young people, the festival is going to propagandize street theater and art, as well as familiarize the city’s residents with new art genre and conducting useful and enjoyable leisure-time activities.

The festival was remembered with performances of many talented young people. More than 100 young people and some 15 groups showed their ability in acting, dancing, musical and visual arts.

The best participants were awarded diplomas and prizes.

The European Games to be held in Baku for 17 days will be the most significant sporting event in the country and Europe.

Some 6,000 athletes from 50 countries are expected to compete in 20 sports, including 16 Olympic sports.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
