Francophonie Week due in Baku

Traditional Francophonie and French language Week will be held in Baku on March 8-15.

The week will start with chess tournament and continue with cinema, music and entertaining events on March 12-15.

This year’s celebration will be distinguishable as it will correlate with French Gastronomy Week scheduled for March 8-12.

The gastronomy week will give everyone the opportunity to try French cuisine, to taste wines and cheeses. Moreover, guests of the events will be able to buy all these products at a discount in French restaurants and cafes of Baku including Entrée, Paul and Paris Bistro.

Moreover, the French Institute will show a series of films devoted to the culture and gastronomy of the country. The full-length animated film Ratatouille will be shown on March 11.

The Institute is to host a conference dedicated to French wines, where everyone will also be able to taste them, on March 12.

The Francophonie Days will also prepare surprises and presents in connection with the International Women’s Day.

The days of French language and culture are annual spring event in Azerbaijan that brings French-speaking people together.
