"Azerbaijan - magical Land of Fire" exhibition opens in Prague

The opening ceremony of the “Azerbaijan - magical Land of Fire” exhibition was held in the National Museum of Prague on November 27.
Co-organized by the Azerbaijan National History Museum (ANHM)
and the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) as well as the Czech
National Museum, the event took place with the support of the
Azerbaijani Embassy in the Czech Republic.
Representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, culture and
other state agencies of the Czech Republic, as well as members of
the accredited diplomatic corps in this country, Azerbaijan and
Czech communities attended the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Director of the Czech National Museum
Michal Lukes, director of NAHM Naile Valikhanli and Azerbaijani
Ambassador Farid Shafiyev stressed the importance of development of
cultural relations between the two countries.
Later, Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayov’s romance “Sensiz”
(Without you) was performed by employees of the embassy Nigar
Efendiyeva and Tural Gancaliyev on tar and piano.
The exhibition featured Azerbaijani ancient and rich history and
culture, national musical instruments, clothing and jewelry.
Moreover, archaeological finds, old coins and banknotes as well as
other valuable items were shown in different halls of the Czech
National Museum.
Various publications about the culture and history of Azerbaijan, also "Heritage" (“Irs”) magazine translated into Czech language and other information booklets and brochures were presented to the visitors.
