Buta Festival creates unforgettable evening for Londoners

London hosted the grandiose opening ceremony of the second Buta Festival of Azerbaijani Arts on November 4.

Held under the slogan "Azerbai-WOW", the festival was attended by many people, who looked forward to plunge into the world of music.

In a gala concert held in the Royal Albert Hall the masterpieces of outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibeyov, Fikrat Amirov touched the hearts of the guests.

Works of such talented national musicians as Isfar Sarabski, Soltan Hajibeyov, Azer Rzayev as well as Farkhad Badalbeyli were also a great addition to the event.

The performance of jazzman Shahin Novrasli was warmly welcomed. Worldwide known Andrea Bocelli created an unforgettable evening for the visitors.

Compositions performed both with Azerbaijani musicians such as pianist Murad Huseynov and foreign players created an exciting atmosphere.

Head of Buta Art Center Nasib Piriyev noted that the festival is aimed to get acquainted the international society with Azerbaijani art and culture.

An impressive array of performers from the Caspian country will please the guests with the launch of a five-month celebration of the arts and culture of Azerbaijan - a land where ancient traditions are inspiring an exciting future.

Guests will also have an opportunity to try and enjoy Azerbaijani national cuisine, art and culture.

Rena Effendi will open the fantastic visual arts section of this year's Buta Festival of Azerbaijani Arts, with her Zones of Silence exhibition at The Mosaic Rooms!

Rena's highly praised 'Pipe Dreams' exhibition at the 2009-2010 Buta Festival, captured harsh realities, as well as moments of pure beauty, experienced by people living along the pipeline through Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia.

The first Buta Festival of Azerbaijan Arts was held in London from November 2009 to March 2010. During the festival, Londoners got acquainted with Azerbaijan's most celebrated musicians, artists, poets and filmmakers.
