Mehriban Efendi to take part in int’l Surrealism Now exhibition

Azerbaijan's most talented, creative and unique artist, Mehriban Efendi's works will be put on display on the opening of the "International Surrealism Now" exhibition, to be held in Coimbra, Portuguese.

The young surrealist's works will be exposed in the Louise Palace on October 11.

Being held since 2010 with the assistance of many European organizations and under supervision of Santiago Ribeiro, the exhibition is aimed at spotting and supporting talented contemporary surrealist artists from around the world.

The project implemented with the support of Buss Barreto, is aimed to spot contemporary talented artists Surrealists living and creating after Salvador Dali and provide them with new opportunities.

Now, the surrealists from 28 countries including Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Poland, Spain, the U.S., France, Holland, Romania, Ukraine, China, Iran, Canada, Brazil and other countries are actively taking part in this international project.

The works of various techniques and trends, such as drawing, painting, digital art and sculpture are featured in the exhibition.

Mehriban, the participant of many international exhibitions has joined this significant project since 2010.

Earlier, Mehriban Efendi's works were put on display at the Art of the World gallery in Muskegon city in U.S., and the artist received an invitation for a long-term collaboration with the gallery.

The first solo exhibition of Efendi was held in the United States in 2005. Then she participated in the exhibition "Art and Awareness" in Montana; a few of her works were further demonstrated at the huge electronic billboards "Art Takes Times Square" on Time Square in New York.

The work "Harmony" presented at this exhibition was published in the book "Art Takes Time Square". It was recognized as one of the best works across the world in 2012.
