The opening ceremony of Kamala Jannson's personal exhibition for arts and crafts was held on September 17.

Called "Azerbaijani National Clothes", the event took place in Baku Arts Center "Yeni Gallery" and will run until September 20.

Addressing the opening ceremony, director of Baku Arts Center Rafael Gulmammadli praised the works put on display in the exhibition, emphasizing that although the artist has lived in Sweden for four years, she continues to engage in the development and promotion of Azerbaijani art.

Azerbaijan's People's Artist Amina Yusifgizi wished great achievements and success for Kamala Jansson in her career.

Secretary of the Azerbaijan Artists Union Agali Ibrahimov noted that this engagement requires more effort, saying that a lot of time is necessary for the creation of such beautiful works.

"Kamala Jansson's works show her love for art, and how she lives with creativity, as well as her respect to Azerbaijani history," Ibrahimov said.

"I've followed Kamala Jansson's creativity. She has always paid great attention to Azerbaijani national clothes and history. While creating her works, Kamala works out all the elements, and it is remarkable how the artist draws attention to even the smallest details. Although she does not live in Azerbaijan, Kamala thinks only about her motherland. I always support talented people such as Kamala. I congratulate her on her first personal exhibition and wish all the best in the world for her creativity," famous Azerbaijani designer Gulnara Khalilova said.

Kamala has been engaged in arts and crafts for almost 25 years. She has also participated in many exhibitions held both in Azerbaijan and foreign countries.

The star of the ceremony said her biggest dream had been to organize an exhibition in her homeland.

"I am very happy, as my dream has come true. My first personal exhibition is being held in Azerbaijan, where my friends and relatives can attend it," the artist noted.

Kamala wants the world see beauty of Azerbaijani national clothes. "While creating my works, I always learn its history, consult with ethnographers, and visit historical museums," she emphasized.

Kamala does not want to stop on this and plans to sew men's and kid's collections in the future.

Kamala Jansson moved to Sweden in 2010, and established "Azerbaijani national clothes and embroidery" private museum there in 2011.
