The biggest and most important event VERA World Fine Arts Festival will be held in Lisbon, Portuguese from 16 to 21 September 2014. The event will take place at the Exhibition Hall of the Lisbon Maritime Museum.

Azerbaijan is being invited to take part in the festival, where the works of famous and talented artists Tahir Salahov, Sakit Mammadov, Rafig Azizov and Emil Aziz will be put on display.

Artists from Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Israel, France, Germany, Turkey and Iran will also take part in the festival.

Alongside the exhibition, some additional programs will be held including art talks, master classes, round tables, forums and seminars on the trends of artistic composition and other related topics, chaired by renowned artists exhibited and recognized curators; and a charity auction whose revenue accrues to the pediatric service of the Portuguese Institute of Oncology.

The main object of VERA World Fine Art is exhibiting and paying tribute to renowned contemporary artists and emerging new talents in painting, graphics, sculpture, architecture, installation, photography, museology and applied arts.

Bringing together the most relevant trends and directions of modern world culture, VERA World Fine Art Festival contributes to the dissemination, knowledge and understanding of the national traditions of the participating countries. The event has a major role to play in preserving the world's cultural heritage, the development of international cultural dialogue and the strengthening of relations between countries.

To achieve the proposed goals, VERA World Fine Art Festival combines the concept of global artistic celebration in two complementary phases: an annual temporary exhibition of masterpieces of various artistic fields; and a global projection Gala dedicated to the celebration of fine art with the delivery of the prestigious VERA Award to the winning artists.

The first edition of VERA World Fine Art Festival was held in Russia in 2007, becoming one of the biggest art events in the world. Over these seven years, the festival attracted over 4500 galleries and artists and more of 2,000,000 visitors.
