Artist Nigar Narimanbekova represents Azerbaijan at Paris event

Azerbaijan was represented at the Business Arts-2013 salon of the Pierre Cardin Centre in Paris by the paintings of well-known artist Nigar Narimanbekova.

"The opening of the Business Art 2013 salon is a grand event of a magnificent scale," Narimanbekova said. "As always, the fifth, anniversary salon is patronized by maestro Pierre Cardin. I am enormously pleased to present here my home country, Azerbaijan."

The exhibition features a new series of paintings by Narimanbekova, "Childhood Dreams", which consists of seven paintings.

"My works are presented by the Stella Art International gallery. Besides my works, those by 10 artists from various world countries are exhibited," Narimanbekova said.

The exhibition will run until October 27, and in the coming days Pierre Cardin is expected to visit it, she said.

The event was attended by First Secretary of Azerbaijan's Embassy in France, Ayaz Gojayev, Vice President of the House of Azerbaijan in Paris Jala Babayeva, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the Paris artistic elite.

Nigar Narimanbekova, who lives and works in Paris and Baku, graduated from Azerbaijan State Art School named after A. Azimzade and All-Union State Institute of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov (RSIC) in Moscow. She has participated in a number of national and international art exhibitions in France, Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, etc.

Narimanbekova is a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan and the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP). Paintings of the artist are displayed in the exhibition halls of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan as well as private collections.
