The Berlin based young designer Leonie Mergen has created her second collection devoted to Azerbaijan.

Germany designer created her new collection inspired by the works of national artist Arif Aziz.

Her next collection will be presented at the fashion week in London on February 17, Report.Az informs.

Last year, all eyes were on "Karabakh Collection" by designer, who has so far captivated fashion world with her collection.

With the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan as her inspiration, Leonie released a series of pieces inspired by the traditional attire of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region.

The ensembles features patterns reminiscent of the country’s famous tapestries, with signature necklines and sleeved capes making an appearance in both men's and women's clothing.

Azerbaijan’s legacy as a hub on the historical Silk Road and as a leader in horse breeding can be seen in Leonie’s designs, with equestrian-influenced leather accessories and sophisticated silk elements playing an essential role in her collection.

The fashion collection was highly acclaimed following its presentation to the public during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Leonie was selected by L’Oreal Professionnel for their annual brand event.

British Vogue UK magazine embraced Karabakh collection by Berlin-based designer Leonie Mergen.

The success of the collection was widely covered in the Designer Profile section of the 2017 September edition of British Vogue.

Leonie Mergen is one of the foremost rising German designers. Having studied at the International University of Art in Berlin and interned at such high-end houses as a Patrick Hellmann in Berlin. Her fashion features a rich and inspired mélange of the traditional and the avant-garde, all executed with European finesse.
