The winners of the contest "New Romances" have brilliantly performed in the International Mugham Center.

The contest among composers was organized by TV channel "Mədəniyyət"(Culture) of the Azerbaijan Television, Trend Life reported.

Addressing the evening, director of TV channel "Mədəniyyət", the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan and the author of the project Ramil Gasimov noted that the state pays great attention and care to the development of culture and preservation of the national heritage.

Romances occupy a place of honor in national vocal music as one of the best and the main features of the chamber-vocal music.

"Azerbaijan hosts very important international music festivals with the participation of world-famous performers, musicians and collectives, which are widely covered in foreign media. The competition aims at promotion of the romance genre and presentation of the works by talented young people to the general public," said Gasimov.

"Of the top ten works, eight belong to young composers, and four of them were hired in Azerbaijan genre television. New works created in the romance genre will contribute to the enrichment of our musical art," he added.

The main goal of the Azerbaijani television is to promote patriotic education and enlightenment of youth, propaganda of high moral and moral values, feelings of love for Azerbaijan", said Ramil Gasimov.

Honored Art Worker Elnara Dadashova noted that when creating works the authors should take into account modern motives, ideological orientation and spiritual values. She stressed that it is possible to use verses of classics and young poets as lyrics of the songs.

Ten of the best works will be awarded with cash prizes.

Further, the best works of the contest were performed by well-known vocalists.
