Days of Azerbaijani Culture kick off in Uzbekistan [PHOTO]

Days of Azerbaijani Culture kicked off in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on June 15.
The event was co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan, Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Azerbaijani National Cultural Center and Samarkand State University, Azertac reported.
The Days aim to promote Azerbaijan's rich culture, as well as to develop friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Various events, including concert featuring Azerbaijani and Uzbek folk music, conference and photo exhibition are organized as part of the event.
The photo exhibition displays Azerbaijan’s picturesque nature. The traditional Azerbaijani house, set in the park, offers visitors national souvenirs, carpets, national musical instruments.
Booklets in Uzbek language about Azerbaijani history, culture, live and activity of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev was also presented to guests of the event.
The diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were established in October 1995. The two countries have signed over 100 bilateral documents.
The trade turnover between two countries amounted to $19.2 million in January-April 2014. Goods worth $11.67 million were exported to Uzbekistan while the import from Uzbekistan amounted to $7.53 million in the reported period.
The trade turnover between the two countries after the exhibitions almost doubled, and further work in this direction is underway.
