Azerbaijani business ladies have joined the 27th Global Summit of Woman held in Tokyo, Japan.

The delegation included Head of the National Center of Costumes Gulnara Khalilova, Chairman of the Public Association "Institute of international studies Eurasia", MP Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of LLC "Health protection" Yazgul Abdiyeva, Chairman of LLC "Business woman" Suraiya Ismayilova, researcher Kamala Pashayeva, entrepreneurs Arzu Bagirova, Lala Bagirova and Tegran Naghiyeva, Trend Life reported.

“Our delegation informed the participants about the realities of the Karabakh war, the occupation of our lands and Armenian aggression,” said Gulnara Khalilova. “ We also informed them about Azerbaijan, its fact economic development and its success in the international arena in various fields of activity.

Khalilova said that during the event they presented a number of honorary guests of the summit catalog to promote the Azerbaijani national clothes and kelaghai, national headscarf.

Azerbaijani delegation was received by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan, Gursel Ismailzade. The diplomat and his wife received national costumes from the National Center of Costumes.

Women government and business leaders from over 60 countries gathered at a forum in Tokyo that began Thursday to discuss how to accelerate women’s economic progress worldwide.

The theme of the 2017 Summit — "Beyond Womenomics: Accelerating Access"— showcased various initiatives developed in different parts of the world to speed up both women’s access to corporate leadership roles as well as strategies for growing women-owned enterprises worldwide. In addition, the 2017 Summit informed delegates on how to access the Japanese and Asia-Pacific market, showcase women business and government leaders from the region, and provide skills- building sessions, as well as establish networks among such leaders.
