The 9th International Fair of Friendly Cultures has opened in Mexico City.

The festival aims to introduce culture, cuisine and customs of different countries to Mexicans.

This year’s edition runs under the theme of “Cultural Diversity” to promote values, traditions, beliefs and expressions of various cultures, within a framework of respect, recognition and tolerance.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor of Mexico City Miguel Angel Mancera, Azerbaijan`s charge d'affaires in Mexico Mammad Talibov, representatives of the legislative body of Mexican Federal District, diplomats and journalists.

The festival brought together 94 countries, including Azerbaijan,

Azerbaijan's pavilion displays country's rich culture. Visitors to Azerbaijan's booth have an opportunity to sample national cuisine.

The festival will run until June 4 at various locations in the Mexican capital.
