YARAT opens new project 'Meet the artist'

YARAT Contemporary Art Space is proud to introduce a new programme “Meet the artist” which will help art lovers to get closer to various mediums and techniques used by contemporary artists.

The artists will share their work experience with different media and various materials. The project aims to create an opportunity for participants to get introduced to various forms of art making.

Participants will be given simple assignments that they will try to fulfill in accordance with the methodology of the guest speaker/artist.

Learn the secrets of the artist. How does he make his work?

All events will be open to the public and will take place in the museum space.

Thus, art lovers invited to attend a talk on “Contemporary miniature painting“ by a prominent artist Arif Huseynov on February 24.

Arif Huseynov works can be found in the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, Moscow State Museum of Oriental Art, Azerbaijan State Gallery and private collections. His paintings can be found in the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, Moscow State Museum of Oriental Art, Azerbaijan State Gallery as well as private collections.

YARAT is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally. Based in Baku, YARAT (meaning CREATE in Azerbaijani) was founded by Aida Mahmudova in 2011.

YARAT realizes its mission through an on-going program of exhibitions, education events and festivals. YARAT facilitates exchange between local and international artistic networks including foundations, galleries and museums.
