Azerbaijan`s Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev met well-known Russian ballet dancer, Peoples Artist of USSR Vladimir Vasiliev in Baku on December 9.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of boosting ties between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of choreography, Azertac reported.
The sides exchanged views on current state and prospects in the field of choreography, as well as joint implementation of the projects in the relevant sphere.
They also discussed arranging workshops with the participation of art masters from both countries.
Azerbaijan and Russia are tied by firmly based ties, which were officially established in 1992. The cultural relations between the two countries are highly evaluated.
The year 2005 was the "Year of Azerbaijan" in Russia and 2006 was the "Year of Russia" in Azerbaijan. Two countries held 110 special cultural events during these two years.
