Azerbaijan's Carpet Museum, one of the most striking of Baku's new wave of architectural gems, invites everyone to magic journey into the history of carpets.

The event entitled "In the world of fairy tales" will be held under the guidance of master Eldar Mikailzade on December 17.

Eldar Mikailzade’s carpets occupy a worthy place among the best examples of national art.

Striking with beauty and vibrant colors, Mikailzade’s carpets have been exhibited at numerous international exhibitions in Istanbul, London, Brussels and several other cities. One of his carpets was awarded a gold medal at the exhibition in Frankfurt.

The artist's works are kept in private collections in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, France, Turkey, Russia and the UK.

Great artist Sattar Bahlulzade, whom Mikailzade had met in childhood, plays a significant role in the works of Eldar Mikailzade. The founder of contemporary Azerbaijani landscape painting has awakened the spirit of creativity in Mikailzade.

His successful career Mikailzade also owes to another great man - Latif Kerimov, under whose leadership he had improved his professional skills.

Azerbaijan’s Carpet Museum established in Baku in 1967, being the first carpet museum in the world is the very place that can familiarize all the interested with the unique examples of the national carpets.

A new carpet museum, designed in the form of a rolled carpet, opened in the Baku Seaside Park in 2014 and all carpets were transferred to this museum.
