The Coordination Committee of the Trans-Caspian international transport route has established a consortium to promote the project in the global transport market, Azertag state news agency reported.

The decision was made at a meeting in Baku.

The consortium will work to develop logistics, focused on attracting new customers, establishing partnerships with various regions to attract freight flows and the organization of road shows in China in Europe.

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia agreed to number of terms, including the technological collaboration between transport companies for the transit container service NomadExpress along the China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey route, with the involvement of rail and sea transport in direct international railway-ferry, the use of complex bets on the organization of NomadExpress on Trans-Caspian international transport route; the creation of a consortium on the TCIT route.

The sides signed a cooperation technology agreement. The document provides for the reduction of transit container train running time, the exchange of information between the participants of the corridor and customs authorities and compliance with the rules of registration of transportation documents related to the organization of transport.

The adoption of special tariffs for the organization of NomadExpress and the creation of a consortium between the participants to promote the route in the global transport market was among other decisions made at the meeting.

A key task of the Coordination Committee is the development of TCIT route by attracting transit and foreign trade cargo, coordinating tarriff policy for transportation of goods, increasing efficiency in transport and the creation of the joint integrated logistics product.

The Trans-Caspian international transport enjoys the opportunity to become attractive and profitable for consignors from European countries. It is expected that approximately 300,000-400,000 containers will be transported via the Trans-Caspian international transport route by 2020, bringing hundreds of millions of manats in profit to Azerbaijan.

The second container train via the Trans-Caspian international transport route arrived in Georgia by transiting through the Azerbaijani territory in October. The first container train arrived at Baku International Sea Trade Port from China in August.
