Results of the parliamentary elections held in Turkey on June 7 will not affect Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR's projects in this country.

This remark was made by Kenan Yavuz, the head of SOCAR Turkey Enerji and Board Member of Petkim Petrochemical Holding on June 9.

He told Trend that there can be no questions that the results of the parliamentary elections somehow affect the projects of SOCAR in Turkey.

"SOCAR believes in democratic values in Turkey, and the company's all projects are currently being implemented without delay," Yavuz noted.

He went on adding that all the above mentioned remarks also concern the project for construction of Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) that is being jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Turkey.

SOCAR Turkey Energy head added that the political and economic stability in Turkey will continue in the future as well.

“Turkey is a democratic country and the coalition government won’t affect the state administration,” Yavuz said.

On June 7, Turkey held parliamentary elections, which involved 20 political parties. Some 53,765,231 people cast their votes in the election.

The voting results in Turkey’s parliamentary election are as follows: the ruling Justice and Development Party garnered 40.9 percent of the vote, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) – 25 percent, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) – 16.3 percent, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) – 13.1 percent.

Other political parties as a whole gathered 4.7 percent of the vote.

Economic projects, jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Turkey, are bringing these countries together and strengthening their cooperation. These two countries are connected by several important regional projects, including the Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipelines, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas line, and TANAP.

Azerbaijan and Turkey's economic ties have reached a high level. SOCAR is one of the world's most well-established oil companies in Turkey since May 30, 2008. SOCAR Turkey Enerji aims to reduce the dependence on foreign goods and exports in Turkey by providing high value-added products made inside the country.

It is involved in a number of major investment projects in Turkey, including the construction of TANAP, Star refinery, and others.
