The meeting at the Azerbaijan’s Space Agency Azercosmos discussed issues of mutual usage of the first Azerbaijani satellite Azerspace-1 by the Belarusian side, and resources of the Belarusian satellite, which is expected to be launched this year end, by Azerbaijan.

A ground complex to manage the satellite is currently under construction, and the work will be completed until the launch.

The satellite will be launched by carrier rocket "Long March 3B". The satellite, produced by the China Great Wall Industry company, will be located at the orbital position 51.5 ° E.

Azerbaijan entered the space club with the launch of its first satellite Azerspace-1 in February 2013. By now, the country has three satellites, a telecommunication and two low orbit satellites, and it plans to launch a second telecommunication satellite in 2017.

At the event, Popkov said solid output has been reached in recent years and a number of the ICT forums were held. Another forum will be held in Baku in the framework of the Bakutel exhibition in December.
