Azerbaijan, Turkey to establish Eurasian Agricultural Council

Azerbaijan and Turkey will establish Eurasian Agricultural Council.
A cooperation agreement was signed by heads of Azerbaijani National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations Mammad Musayev and Turkish Agriculture and Food Industry Confederation Hakan Yuksel.
The council will be established to link the two countries' joint activity in agriculture, food industry and other fields to the Eurasian countries.
Also, the parties agreed to exchange information in agricultural and other sectors to detect barriers hindering the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation. Mutual participation of both countries' delegations in the ongoing business exhibitions, business forums and other events was also agreed.
Musayev accepted Turkey's invitation to participate at the Second International Agricultural Exhibition which will be held in November, 2014 in Antalya.
The exhibition will be attended by over 3,000 members of business, scientific structures, and the private sector from 80 countries.
Azerbaijan and Turkey's relations have always been strong due to common culture and history and the mutual intelligibility of Turkish and Azerbaijani languages.
Turkey was the first country in the world to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991 and has been a staunch supporter of Azerbaijan in its efforts to consolidate its independence, preserve its territorial integrity, and realize its economic potential that arises from the rich natural resources of the Caspian Sea.
The countries share a short 8 kilometer-border, with the Aras River separating Turkey from the Nakhchivan exclave.
Economic projects implemented between Azerbaijan and Turkey are bringing these countries together and strengthening their cooperation. These two countries are connected by several important regional projects, including the Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipelines, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas line, and Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP).
