Mediation system may be applied in Azerbaijan's insurance market

Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA) plans to introduce a mediation system in the country (one of the pre-trial dispute resolution technologies).
The issue was discussed during the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the AIA, according to the AIA.
“This system will be formed on the basis of study models of pre-trial dispute resolutions in various countries,” the association said.
The meeting participants also discussed issues of formation of AIA committees, approval of the structure and staffing of the association for 2018, involvement of other professional players of the insurance market in the membership of the organization, expansion of training, and prospects for development of the insurance market.
During the meeting, it was decided to increase the number of training organized on various areas of the insurance sector and increase their effectiveness, as well as organize training sessions on the most demanded areas. Agri-insurance, mandatory property insurance, compulsory car insurance and liability insurance of doctors were named among the promising areas of development of the Azerbaijani insurance market.
AIA was established in December 2006 through the merger of two insurance companies - the Association of Insurers of Azerbaijan and the Union of Insurance Companies of Azerbaijan. The main purpose of the association is to ensure the development of the insurance market in Azerbaijan, as well as ensure joint discussion of the problems and prospects of the insurance market.
