More and more people today prefer to go traveling rather than to waste their free time staying at home. The travelers stuff their backpacks with everything they need during the journey and hit the road. One of the main problems they face on the trip is the inability to charge their gadgets while being outside. Here a backpack with solar batteries can help out.

Students of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University have developed a backpack with built-in solar panels, the project manager Rusif Huseynov told Trend on January 16.

He noted that the backpack has additional batteries that can be charged while the backpack is in the sun.

“The backpack can be in demand by the military, as well as be used in long travels, for example, to charge mobile devices,” Huseynov said.

The project manager added that the team currently wants to implement a joint project with Ukrainian partners that will increase the functionality of the backpack, making it a more interesting product.

It is about the possibility of combining the functionality of the backpack with a portable installation for water purification called Owl, which was created in Kiev. Such an installation is capable of filtering 30 liters of contaminated water within an hour.

Backpacks similar to the one created by Azerbaijani students have recently became innovation in the world. This is indeed convenient, since now people do not need to search for a source of electricity when their smartphones, tablets or cameras discharge. Now such a source, allowing people to charge their gadgets on the go, can be always with them.
