The development of entrepreneurship among women is an important catalyst for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai said.

Isaczai made the remarks during the conference entitled "Development of Entrepreneurship among Women in Azerbaijan", held within the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Baku on November 17.

The representatives of embassies, international organizations, the Azerbaijani government and "think tanks" are taking part in the event. The Global Entrepreneurship Week is held worldwide on November 13-19. The Global Entrepreneurship Week has been held since 2008.

He said that the development of entrepreneurship among women can help eliminate the problems of poverty, inequality, as well as obstacles to the development of global education and health.

"For the development of women's entrepreneurship, there is a need for sustained support of all state agencies, including the UN, media outlets, civil society and experts," Isaczai said.
