Azerbaijan fully provides itself with most of construction materials.

There is a great potential and a sufficient number of enterprises in production of construction materials in the country, said Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Niyazi Safarov. He was addressing the opening ceremony of the 23rd Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition WorldBuild Baku 2017 on October 18.

The majority of national companies participating in the exhibition already export their products abroad and this, according to the deputy minister, shows development of non-oil sector and demonstrates competitiveness and demand of national products in foreign countries.

WorldBuild Baku 2017, the largest exhibition in the Caspian region in the field of construction, marked the beginning of the Caspian construction week in Baku, which also includes the exhibitions Aquatherm Baku 2017 and Securika CIPS 2017. As many as 310 companies from 28 countries take part in the exhibitions.

Talking about the first preferential residential complex in the Yasamal district of Baku, Sadig Sadigov, Deputy Director of the State Housing Construction Agency under the President of Azerbaijan, said that the complex will be commissioned in the summer of 2018, and the construction of the complex proceeds in accordance with schedule.

“More than 20 contractors participate in the construction of the complex, and about 3,500 people are involved in the work,” Sadigov informed, adding that this complex will provide new apartments for 1,843 families.

The second such preferential residential complex, which is currently at the design stage, will be located in the Surakhani district of Baku, near the Hovsan settlement, and will occupy an area of 20 hectares. The complex will consist of 3,000 apartments, Sadigov said.

The State Housing Construction Agency started registration of persons wishing to purchase the subsidized housing since May 30, 2017. A preferential mortgage is issued only in the Azerbaijani manat and given to citizens of the country.

The key objective is to meet the demand of people for housing, to improve their living conditions, to provide construction in modern architectural style that meet environmental requirements and energy efficiency requirements, as well as to improve public administration in the field of urban development and construction.
