Azerbaijan, which currently works to develop its car manufacturing industry and encourages interior purchases within the country, may produce tractors in Turkey.

The Ganja Automobile Plant and Belarusian MTZ-Holding signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which allows Azerbaijani enterprise to deploy production in Turkey.

The document also allows for the export of Azerbaijani products to foreign markets.

The agreement signed for the purpose of effective cooperation in the field of assembly production and sales of MTZ products, in particular, involves expanding the geography of the presence of the brand and increasing sales through the establishment of a joint office in Turkey to further promote tractors in this market.

The agreement was signed by General Director of the holding Fyodor Domotenko and Executive Director of the Ganja Automobile Plant Kamran Nazarov.

Domotenko noted that Azerbaijan will produce Belarusian tractors in Turkey. "New equipment will be supplied from Azerbaijan," he said.

Following the signing ceremony, Khanlar Fatiyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ganja Automobile Plant, noted that today the expansion of exports from Azerbaijan is one of the main directions for the development of the national economy.

The signed agreement also presupposes the delivery of another 460 tractor sets of ‘Belarus’ for further sale of the tractors to agricultural producers of Azerbaijan.

The Ganja Automobile Plant, established in December 2004, currently assembles ‘Belarus’ tractors and MAZ, KAMAZ and ‘Ural’ cars.

In addition to tractors and cars, the Plant manufactures various attachments for ‘Belarus’. The equipment manufactured at the enterprise is issued with a guarantee for one year, as well as its high-quality service in all regions of the country.

In 2006, Ganja and Minsk automobile plants inked an agreement on manufacturing and sale all kinds of trucks and tractors of the Minsk Automotive Plant in Azerbaijan.

In 2010 Ganja Automotive Plant, Minsk Automotive Plant and German “Haller” company signed an agreement on installation utility equipment by the German company to the automobile division of the Ganja Plant.
