Azerbaijan, Qatar consider issues of cooperation in aviation

President of CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines, Jahangir Askerov received the delegation headed by Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar, Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey in Baku on December 13.

Askerov, addressing the meeting, noted that historically warm relations have been established between Azerbaijan and Qatar, as well as between AZAL and Qatar Airways.

He said there are no obstacles to the expansion of cooperation in passenger and cargo transportation by air.

In turn, Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al-Subaey said that it is his first visit to Baku and Azerbaijan's capital made a great impression on him.

He stressed that the purpose of his visit is to discuss further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in civil aviation.

The sides expressed confidence that cooperation in civil aviation will serve to intensification and comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar.

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the national flag carrier, has one of the newest airplane fleets. Azerbaijan Airlines is a major air carrier and one of the leaders of the aviation community of the CIS countries.

Azerbaijan Airlines is a member of IATA since 1993. In June 2015 Skytrax consultancy, which is considered as the most influential ranking company in the world in air transportation sphere, awarded AZAL the prestigious rating - The World's 4-STAR Airline.

Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Now in its 19th year of operations, Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of 190 aircraft flying to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across six continents.
