Air Arabia, the Middle East's largest and oldest low-cost airline, will soon launch flights to Azerbaijan.

The airline will start performing the flights en route Sharjah (UAE)-Baku-Sharjah starting from March 16, according to Director of Sindbad Travel Agency Emil Aliyev.

The launch of the new flights follows a joint cooperation agreement signed between Air Arabia, Azerbaijan Airlines, and interested local authorities.

Air Arabia currently operates a total fleet of 43 Airbus A320 aircraft, serving 120 routes from five hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt and Jordan.

One of the features of the company’s A320 airplanes’ cabin is distance between the seats (about 80 cm, which is more than the standard economy class salons), because instead of the usual 180 passenger seats Air Arabia aircraft has only 162 seats. This allows passengers to have more comparable flight.

Moreover, Air Arabia offers the most reasonable prices in the world. Nevertheless, the company regularly conducts various campaigns reducing the already affordable ticket prices even more.

Currently, there is a visa-free regime for persons with diplomatic and service passports, and since 2015, the UAE citizens has been visiting Azerbaijan on the basis of a simplified visa system. They can obtain an entry visa, valid for 30 days’ stay, at any international airport in Azerbaijan.

Recently, Azerbaijan proposed to introduce a visa-free regime for citizens of both the UAE and Azerbaijan. The UAE government has already given prior consent, and now the issue is under consideration.
