Governments are expected to develop their own national indicators and analyses to assist in monitoring process thus contributing to the monitoring and follow-up actions on the global level.

SDG's adopted by world leaders officially came into force on January 1, 2016. The goals cover the three dimensions of sustainable development, including economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection, while the implementation and success will rely on countries’ own sustainable development policies, plans and programs.
