Azerbaijan able to host Summer Games 2024
The organization of the Baku 2015 first European Games means Azerbaijan is able to host Summer Olympic Games to be held in 2024, Secretary General of National Olympic Committee of San Marino Eros Bologna has said as he shared his opinions on the first European Games AzerTac state news agency reported.
"The Games which brought together athletes from numerous countries gave to Azerbaijan the opportunity to demonstrate its potential," he said.
Head of the San Marino delegation Federico Valentino said that the Games have made deep impression on him.
"The first European Games is worthy of a higher price. I was eye witness of a high level service in the Athletes village. There were all kinds of conditions there. All the athletes were provided high-quality food products and convenient transportation. During the 17 days of the Games, everything was well organized. We'll participate with pleasure in the sporting events to be held in Azerbaijan in future. I am very lucky to be a part of this historic event. The first European Games was a bright sport event that I will never forget."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and wrapped up on June 28. Baku 2015 First European Games hosted 20 sports – 16 Olympic and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
