Two national athletes reach quarterfinals of wrestling competitions
Azerbaijani athletes Natalya Sinishin and Mariya Stadnik reached the quarterfinals of the wrestling competitions among women.
Natalia Sinishin, competing in the weight category of 55 kg, beat Italian athlete Patricia Liuzzi with a score of 10: 0 in 1/8 final, but Mariya Stadnik (48 kg) beat Portuguese athlete Liliana Costa dos Santos with a score of 12: 2.
Sinishin and Stadnik will compete with Turkish athlete Bediha Gun and French athlete Julie Sabatier in the quarterfinals respectively.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
