Serbian shooters to join Baku 2015 named

Serbia nominated a team of 12 shooters for Baku 2015, nine of whom have Olympic Games experience.

Srecko Pejovic , the Serbian Shooting Federation Sports Director has nominated a team of 12 shooters for the Baku 2015 European Games, nine of whom have Olympic Games experience - some of them from multiple Olympics. Four of the shooters have won Olympic medals.

Ivana Maksimovic won Rifle 3 Positions silver at London 2012. She is also the daughter of Serbian Olympic shooting gold medalist Goran Maksimovic, who captured the 10m Air Rifle title in 1988.

Stevan Pletikosic picked up 50m Rifle Prone bronze at the 1992 Olympics, the first of three Olympics for Pletikosic.

The 49-year-old Jasna Sekaric competed at the last seven Olympics dating back to 1988, winning 10m Air Pistol gold in 1988 as well as three silver medals and one bronze medal. Sekaric is also a four-time 10m Air Pistol world champion.

Andrija Zlatic meanwhile competed at the 2004 and 2012 Olympics, winning 10m Air Pistol bronze at London 2012. Zlatic also picked up two silvers at the World Championships.

Nemanja Mirosavljev has appeared at five Olympics while Andrea Arsovic, Zorana Arunovic and Bobana Velickovic all competed at London 2012 and Damir Mikec was at Beijing 2008.

Baku 2015-bound Dimitrije Grgic, Milenko Sebic and Milutin Stefanovic have yet to appear at the Olympic Games. Arsovic, Sekaric, Maksimovic and Grgic have all earned Serbia quotas for Rio 2016, AzerTac state news agency reported.

The historic event will gather 6,000 athletes from 50 countries to compete in 20 sports in Azerbaijan.
