Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev received former President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatlers on March 11, Azertac state news agency reported.

The sides noted that the Global Baku Forum, which was organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, had become a good tradition, underlining the yearly growing interest in the event.

They noted that the scope of the issues discussed at the forum was gradually expanding and drawing more attention thanks to its topicality. They emphasized that the event created good opportunities for broader cooperation.

President Aliyev also received former President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen.

The excellent organization of the 4th Global Baku Forum by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center was underlined during the meeting.

They pointed to the fact that the Global Baku Forum ranked among the leading international discussion platforms. The sides expressed their confidence that the issues discussed at the forum would contribute to the expansion of international cooperation.
