Armenian troops breach ceasefire 125 times throughout the day

The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 125 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported on February 11.

The ceasefire was violated in Talish, Gulustan villages in Goranboy region, Goyarkh, Chilaburt, Chayli, Yarimja villages in Tartar region, Shikhlar, Bash Garvand, Novruzlu, Javahirli, Kangarli, Sarijali, Shuraabad, Marzali, Garagashli, Yusifjanli, Namirli villages in Aghdam region, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand region, Horadiz, Garakhanbayli, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmadli villages in Fuzuli region, Mehdili village of Jabrayil region, as well as nameless hills in Goygol, Goranboy, Khojavand, Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions.

In view of the operational situation, Azerbaijani armed forces carried out 126 strikes on enemy positions.

Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s. Long-standing efforts by U.S, Russian and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far.

As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, more than 4,000 are reported missing and almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.

The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
