President Aliyev visits Nakhchivan - UPDATE
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on a visit, Azertac state news agency reported.
A guard of honor was arranged for the head of state at the Nakhchivan International Airport.
President Aliyev was welcomed by Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov.
The President met with members of the government of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Later, President Aliyev visited a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city of Nakhchivan.
Talibov informed the president about the landscaping and reconstruction work carried out around the statue.
As part of his visit to Nakhchivan, President Aliyev has attended the opening of the Shakarabad-Babek settlement-Nehram-Arazkend ring road after reconstruction.
The head of state reviewed the technical and economic indicators of the road.
The road links several residential areas of Babek district with the total population of 32,000 people. The length of the ring road is 16km, while the width is 7.5 meters. The 455m-long concrete canal was built here.
The president cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road.
