The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 93 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said.

The ceasefire was violated in Talish village in Goranboy region, Goyarkh, Yarimja villages in Tartar region, Shikhlar, Javahirli, Kangarli, Sarijali, Namirli, Shuraabad, Garagashli, Bash Garvand villages in Aghdam region, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand region, Horadiz, Garakhanbayli, Gorgan, Ashagi Seyidahmadli villages in Fuzuli region, Mehdili village in Jabrayil region, as well as nameless hills in Goranboy, Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions.

In view of the operational situation, Azerbaijani armed forces carried out 98 strikes on enemy positions.

Meanwhile, in accordance with the mandate of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, the OSCE mission will hold a monitoring on the contact line of troops near Orta Gervend village of Azerbaijan`s Aghdam region.

The Defense Ministry reported that the Azerbaijani side will be represented by field assistants of personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office Hristo Hristov and Peter Svedberg.

The opposite side will be represented by field assistants of personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office Yevgeniy Sharov, Jiri Aberle and Simon Tiller.

Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that had caused a lengthy war in the early 1990s.

The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenia's withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
