President Aliyev congratulates President Nazarbayev over victory in elections
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a telephone call to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on April 27, AzerTac state news agency reported.
The head of state congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on the occasion of his landslide victory in the presidential election, and wished him strong health and new successes in his high state activities.
President Nazarbayev thanked President Aliyev for the attention and congratulations.
The heads of state expressed confidence that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan would further successfully develop in all fields.
Kazakhstan’s incumbent president Nazarbayev won the snap presidential election held on April 26, said the Central Election Commission.
Nazarbayev, who holds the title Elbasy, “Leader of the Nation”, gathered 97.7 percent of votes, according to preliminary data.
The voter turnout in the election was 95.22 percent, according to final data. The final results of the presidential election should be announced by the CEC no later than May 3, 2015.
