Quake jolts Azerbaijani sector of Caspian Sea
An underwater earthquake hit the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, according to the Republican Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
The earthquake was recorded at 15:15 (UTC/GMT +4 hours) on Jan. 29 in the Caspian Sea, some 18 kilometers south-east of the city of Astara.
The earthquake’s magnitude was 3.3, and its epicenter was at a depth of 44 kilometers.
