Korea-Azerbaijan ties in focus
Korea and Azerbaijan discussed developing relations between the two sides as Ziyafat Asgarov, the First Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament met the delegation led by Hwang Young Cheol, the chairman of Korea-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group of the National Assembly of Korea, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Asgarov noted that bilateral relations increased further thanks to the mutual visits of the presidents of the two countries.
He hailed Korea-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group,
noting that it makes certain contribution to the development of
bilateral relations as well.
Noting that construction of a number of sports facilities for
inaugural European Games to be held in 2015 have been entrusted to
Korean companies, Asgarov stressed the importance of expanding
activities of these companies.
Providing an insight into the progress made in recent years in all
areas in Azerbaijan, he also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan,
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well.
Expressing satisfaction with the visit, Hwang Young Cheol in his
turn praised the rapid development of Azerbaijan.
He stressed the importance of cooperation in political and
economic spheres between the two countries. “We will review the
activities of Korean companies operating in the country and spare
no efforts in expanding the activities of companies,” he added.
The meeting also mulled the prospects for the development of
relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea and other
issues of mutual interest.
