Georgian state minister visits Azerbaijan

Georgian State Minister for Diaspora Affairs Gela Dumbadze paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on November 20.
Dumbadze mulled the mutual relations of Georgia and Azerbaijan
at a meeting with Azerbaijan's Interrior Minister, Colonel-General
Ramil Usubov on November 21.
Usubov highlighted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s undeniable
services in establishing and developing bilateral relations between
the two countries. He said Azerbaijan and Georgia have always
enjoyed historical friendship ties.
"Representatives of different religions and nationalities have
always lived in a tolerant and friendly atmosphere in Azerbaijan,"
Usubov said.
He went on to stress the importance of further progress in
relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Dumbadze, in turn, said he was an advisor in the embassy of Georgia
in Azerbaijan during 2001-2005, sharing his memories about national
leader Heydar Aliyev.
Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashenidze has also
attended the meeting.
Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam
Allahshukur Pashazade received Dumbadze on November 22.
Pashazade said Azerbaijan and Georgia were bound together by
historical friendly and good neighbor relations.
He thanked the Georgian government for supporting Azerbaijan's
territorial integrity. He also added that Azerbaijan has always
supported Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Dumbadze described Azerbaijan-Georgia relations as a model for
other countries.
Dumbadze's official visit to Azerbaijan ended on November 23.
