Leyla Aliyeva studies Australia’s environment protection experience

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Head of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Association Leyla Aliyeva has held a series of meetings on protecting the environment and biodiversity during her visit to Australia.

Visiting a number of famous national parks of Australia, Aliyeva has got familiar with the rich biodiversity of the country.

During her visit to an animal breeding center, she was briefed about the endangered animal species, methods applied for their rehabilitation, means of increasing the number of such animals and technologies used in this sphere.

For her part, the vice-president provided information about the endangered animal species living in Azerbaijan and measures taken by IDEA Public Association to remove these challenges.

Mentioning the joint works being carried out together with a number of international organizations to protect endangered animal species in Azerbaijan, Aliyeva underscored the importance of exchanging experience between Azerbaijan and Australia in protecting these animals and biodiversity.

The IDEA is implementing some large-scale local and international projects to protect the environment and to promote innovative approaches towards solving environmental problems.

The campaign is based on the principles of dialogue, action, leadership, and education - all the essential components for equipping a generation with means of fostering positive and sustainable environmental change.

One of the notable activities of the IDEA in the three past years since its establishment has been a massive tree planting campaign during which more than 3,472,000 trees have been planted.
