Azerbaijan, Kuwait to develop ICT co-op

There is a great capacity for further development of cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies between Azerbaijan and Kuwait.

This was announced by Azerbaijan's Communications and High Technologies Minister Ali Abbasov at the meeting with a Kuwaiti delegation led by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah.

Noting Kuwait's noteworthy achievements in the ICT field, Abbasov informed the visiting delegation about main activities of his Ministry and spoke about the prospects of future cooperation.

For his turn, the Kuwaiti minister said Kuwait attaches particular importance to the establishment of intensive relations with Azerbaijan, and expressed his country's interest in developing the Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti relations based on friendship and cooperation in accordance with the interests of the two nations.

Providing detailed information about his country's ICT strategy and public policy in this area, the Kuwaiti delegation put forward the idea of creating a technical group between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in terms of developing bilateral relations, and offering proposals to identify further areas of cooperation in the ICT sector.

Furthermore, he said the relationship between the sides have entered into a new stage of development and from this point of view, mutual visits are of great importance. Noting his country's interest in participating in the exhibition Bakutel, he expressed willingness of Kuwait's ICT companies to be represented at the 20th telecommunications exhibition.

BakuTel exhibition is the largest telecommunications exhibition in the Caspian basin and the Caucasus that brings international ICT companies, government and media together. This year, the exhibition will be held on December 2-5.
