President Aliyev receives Qatari envoy
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received Qatari ambassador Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani as he ends his diplomatic mission in the country, AzerTag state news agency reported.
During the meeting, the sides noted with pleasure that bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Qatar have been successfully developing.
The parties said that there were good prospects for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed confidence that the bilateral ties would continue to deepen.
Qatar has already appointed its new ambassador to Azerbaijan, Sayar Abdulrahman Jassim al-Mauda, a diplomatic source told Trend.
The decree on the appointment was signed by the emir of Qatar.
Qatar's new ambassador prior to his appointment served as the ambassador of Qatar in Pakistan. Earlier the diplomat worked at diplomatic missions in Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea.
