President Aliyev, First Lady visit country's regions

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva visited Dashkasan, Naftalan, Goranboy regions and Ganja city on October 17-18.

The presidential couple first laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of Dashkasan. Head of Dashkasan Region Executive Authority Ahad Abiyev informed the Azerbaijani president about the works carried out there.

Later, President Aliyev and his spouse inaugurated the Heydar Aliyev Center in Dashkasan.

The Center has an internet classroom, an e-library, a computer center and drawing studio. Several courses will be organized at the center to develop knowledge and skills of the region's youth.

Also, President Aliyev and his spouse reviewed the conditions created at the new building of the Dashkasan Region Executive Authority. The facility has a library, meeting and conference halls. Through the operational control room, citizens can establish a direct video link with officials of the executive authority to discuss their problems.

President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva later inaugurated a new bus station complex and a Youth Training and Recreation Center in Dashkasan.

Then, the presidential couple left Dashkasan for Naftalan, and first laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center.

President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated the Qarabağ SPA and Resort hotel complex in Naftalan, the construction of which started in 2012. The complex with a total area of more than 13 hectares has a tennis court, a basketball ground and a golf course, as well as a helipad, 8 km-long walking areas and green areas.

There are restaurants and cafes in the hotel, which also offer SPA therapy services.
The hotel, which has 132 rooms, can accommodate up to 264 people.

Also, President Aliyev and his spouse reviewed the conditions created at a new block of Naftalan Hotel by Rixos, the foundation of which was laid in 2008.

The 200-bed facility covers a total area of 8 hectares. The facility, which was previously called Gashalti Sanatorium, was reconstructed last year.

Departments of Naftalan therapy, SPA therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation, as well as a fitness room operate in the healthcare center block. Tourists will be offered dishes of Azerbaijani and world cuisine in the restaurants.

The hotel also has a water treatments block consisting of a swimming pool, an iodine-bromine bath, a swimming pool for underwater exercises, a sauna and other departments.

The hotel, which also features an entertainment section, has a gym, a sunbathing terrace and a fountain complex. The hotel has 163 rooms which meet modern standards.

On the same day, President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva arrived in Goranboy region and inaugurated the Heydar Aliyev Center, Goranboy-Yukhari Aghjakand highway, as well as reviewed the construction works at Goranboy electric power distribution station.

The next destination was a ceremony to mark the completion of a project on the reconstruction of water supply system and creation of a sewage system in Goranboy.

The first stage of the project saw the construction of Balligaya water source and the main water pipe. Eleven basins were built along the pipe. Three water reservoirs with the capacity of 1,000 cm each, administrative buildings and a production base were built in the first stage. It also saw the consecution of various water and sewage lines. All consumers are provided with water meters. A wastewater and water purification complex with the daily capacity of 5,000 cm was also built with technological systems installed.

As part of the visit, President Aliyev and his spouse visited Azerbaijan's second largest city Ganja and laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center.

They reviewed the progress of repair, restoration and construction works at Imamzade Complex in the city.

Imamzade or the Blue Imam Turbeh is the historical monument dating back to the 8th century. The reconstruction of the complex started in 2010. Some 9 million manats and 3 million manats were allocated from the President's Contingency Fund for the restoration and repair of the complex.

Later, President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ceremony to lay the foundation of Stadler Ganja Carriage Factory.

The Stadler Rail Group and Azerbaijan's Railway International Distribution Company signed an agreement to jointly establish a carriage factory in Ganja. Under the agreement, the facility with an annual capacity of 60 carriages will be built in Ganja at the initial stage.

The factory will be inaugurated in 2016. The facility, which will cover an area of 20 hectares, will export its products to Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

Also, President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ceremony to lay the foundation of Ganja State Drama Theatre, reviewed the progress of the construction works at the building of Ganja State Philharmonic, as well as inaugurated a kindergarten No. 2, the construction of which was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and a new block of secondary school No. 4.

The presidential couple last visited Javad Khan Street and Heydar Aliyev Park in Ganja.
