Azerbaijani History and Culture Research Centre opens in Vietnam

The Azerbaijani History and Culture Research Centre under the Institute for Politics, Law and Management of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has been inaugurated in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The event brought together officials of government and parliament of Vietnam, members of the society, representatives of the Media, AzerTag state news agency reported.

Director of the Azerbaijani History and Culture Research Centre Ngo Thi Kim Tu highlighted the activity and plans of the Centre.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov, for his part, highlighted the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Vietnam saying the visit created conditions for comprehensive development of cooperation between the two countries.

Imanov also highlighted the increased interest of the people of Vietnam to Azerbaijan, as well as its culture.

The diplomat stressed the importance of opening of the Centre, adding this would play an important role in awareness of Vietnam`s people about Azerbaijan and would serve to further strengthening relations between the two nations.

The speakers stressed the role of the Centre in developing relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam.

Later, the event saw demonstration of video about Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani-Vietnam cooperation is fast developing. Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Vietnam last December, while the Azerbaijan-Vietnam inter-parliamentary friendship group was established in Hanoi in November 2013.

In October 2013, Vietnam simplified the visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens, making it possible for Azerbaijani citizens to obtain a visa upon arrival at Vietnam's airports.
