In the light of charity
Mehriban Aliyeva as the First Lady of independent Azerbaijan, with her endless charity, care and attention has turned into one of the dearest women of the nation. She is the hope for millions seeking support.
With her care of national culture, Mehriban Aliyeva has written a glorious page in the history of Azerbaijan.
Mehriban Aliyeva is a model woman and a model mother. Her personality represents a smart harmony, austerity, dignity with openness to dialogue, communication and understanding. And whenever she is -- both in country and out its borders -- she shines with this smart harmony of excellent values. Mehriban Aliyeva's name is associated with charity, cordial warmth and mercy. She is always near to those who really need care and warmth. She does not allow the children without family and those in need of special care to feel alone. Of course, thanks to her personal initiatives and well organized activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
She considers herself guardian of the nation's heritage. "Any lost material value is irreplaceable and is a crime against the future generations," she says. Her unprecedented activities out of the country in an effort to popularize the Azerbaijani culture are really worth appraisal. The recent triumph of the Azerbaijani culture in the very heart of Europe was possible thanks to her delicate sense of excellence.
Azerbaijan, now thanks to the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, participates in the restoration of many the world's renowned monuments of history and culture in France, Italy, the Vatican, building schools, kindergartens and medical centers abroad. This is invaluable contribution -- it will not be forgotten and passed from generations to generations, each time with remembrance of Azerbaijan.
Mehriban Aliyeva's activities also enabled Azerbaijan to become a world cultural center, by hosting grandiose international cultural events. The recent International Music Festival in Gabala is one prime example.
Another example was the wonderful organization of the Eurovision 2012 song festival. Azerbaijan is preparing to receive the inaugural European Games in 2015 and given the way preparations are proceeding, there is no doubt of its success.
